Epona, the Great Mother Goddess.
This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful we’re still able to gather together (albeit online) and connect with our loved ones! This harvest season, we’re giving you a sneak peek of what’s to come!
Epona is the Celtic Goddess of horses and dreams and has been revered since the Iron Age. She is the only Celtic Goddess the Romans worshipped, and even had a temple built for her.
Epona had numerous fertility attributes, giving her the title of the great Mother Goddess. Always depicted carrying a cornucopia, she was revered for ushering new life into the land. Her association with horses reflected the Celts’ love for horses. She is the patroness of warriors riding horseback and the bearer of both good and bad dreams.
