October Fan of the Month Winners

Posted by ColorIt Support on

No tricks, just lots of treats!

This past October was hardly spooky for six of our ColorIt fans because we each gave them ColorIt gift cards worth $25! These winners also had the chance to double their prize if they included their ColorIt gel pens, pencils, and markers in the photo, and be featured here on the blog.

Three winners were picked based on set criteria and the other three were chosen randomly because you know what they say...the more, the merrier!

Wanna see the winning entries and our exclusive interview with one of the winners? Here they are:
When did you first pick up a coloring book?
I have been coloring since I could hold a crayon. I have books dated back to when I was 5. I'm 40 now so that's a lot of books.
Describe your perfect coloring atmosphere.
Perfect coloring atmosphere is with my family in the front room watching a good movie. I'm covered in a cozy blanket, have hot tea within reach, and all my supplies are sitting next to me.
Tell us about your creative process when you get ready to color.
My creative process is most of the time just what comes to mind, and those are usually the best pictures. Occasionally I will ask for suggestions or even look online for color palettes, but I prefer to just go with the flow.

How has coloring changed or added to your life?

I've been coloring even when it wasn't 'the thing to do.' It was my stress reliever. When adult coloring books came onto the scene, I was so happy. For the longest time, I thought I was the only adult still coloring.

What advice would you give someone who isn't confident about their coloring technique?

Don't take it too seriously or you'll take the fun out of it. If you do want to learn new ways to color, there are so many resources nowadays to help hone your coloring skills. YouTube videos and books are showing different techniques. Plus coloring groups filled with people who love coloring too. People who take the time to offer advice when asked.

What's your favorite ColorIt book? What title would you like to see in the future?

My favorite Colorit book is Mythical and Fantasy. Followed closely by Colors of the Decades. I'm saving up for the Christmas and Unicorn books. I would like to see a 'steampunk' book or maybe a book based on the Camelot lore with kings, ladies, and knights.

Is there anything else you want to share about your love of coloring?

My best pictures are ones I don't put much thought into. I try not to compare myself with others. Just have fun.

And here are the rest of the winners!

We love how Dawn Patton colored this gorgeous unicorn page with purple hues!

Jennifer Rincon made these magical unicorns look fabulous.

Carla Nations did an excellent job coloring this beautiful unicorn page.

What a beautiful unicorn and fairy page colored by Dawn Crosson!

Rainbow and unicorn? Marilyn Petrovich did an awesome job coloring them.
