March Fan of the Month Winners

Here at ColorIt, we simply love hearing from our loyal fans. Seeing their artwork and creativity brings us a lot of joy, so much so that we wanna give back to the community. Each month, we pick three winning submissions based on a specific criteria. On top of that, we also pick three random entries just to keep things fun!

These lucky fans will each receive a $25 ColorIt gift card and have the chance to double their prize by having their ColorIt Pencils, Markers or Gel Pens in their submission photo. When did you first pick up a coloring book?

I first picked up an adult coloring book about a year ago and now I’m obsessed.

Describe your perfect coloring atmosphere.

I love to color on my couch watching TV or coloring with my mom and daughter

Tell us about your creative process when you get ready to color.

When I get ready to color I don't really think. I really do it as a life getaway. My job as a court reporter is super hectic sometimes and this helps me unwind.

How has coloring changed or added to your life?

I think I answered this in question 3 but also I have learned so many new coloring techniques that have changed my outlook on coloring.

What advice would you give someone who isn't confident about their coloring technique?

Watch tons of YouTube videos and keep practicing. Never stop learning new things.

What's your favorite ColorIt book? What title would you like to see in the future?

I think my favorite Colorit coloring book is the Christmas book, but I don't own it. So I think my next favorite that I just ordered is Colorful Seasons. Totally love Blissful Scenes also. In the future, I would love to see more Christmas, or angels, or totally a beach palm tree book ;)

Is there anything else you want to share about your love of coloring?

My love of coloring...I would like to say I do believe having good quality pens, pencils, markers, etc. really helps the coloring process ;) Don't think and have fun.

When did you first pick up a coloring book?

I can't remember the first time I picked up a coloring book. It feels like I have been coloring forever! 

My perfect coloring atmosphere is anywhere with a flat surface and tons of light. I have a little corner in my house, just for coloring.

Tell us about your creative process when you get ready to color.

When I finally decide on the picture I want to color, I sit and stare at it until I feel inspired. LOL! Depending on my mood that day is how I choose my palette. If I am in a good mood, my color palette is bright and colorful. If I am feeling a little blue, or under the weather, my palette is a little more somber. If I don't feel inspired at all, I have a bunch of color palettes that I got from my local paint store. They are free and makes choosing a palette fun and easy.

How has coloring changed or added to your life?

When I color, I find myself in a peaceful place. Life kinda slows down and quiet while I'm coloring. After I have finished the page, I have a sense of accomplishment. I have shared my love of coloring with my granddaughter and the two of us can sit together and color for hours.

What advice would you give someone who isn't confident about their coloring technique?

My advice to someone that isn't confident is just to keep on coloring! There is no wrong or right way to color. If you start something you don't care for, start over! Color for yourself, not anyone else. I never thought I would ever share my coloring, but I did and here I am!!!

As far as my favorite ColorIt book, that is a tough one! All of them are fun to color! But I find myself choosing Calming Doodles the most. So much, in fact, I am almost finished with it! The paper that ColorIt uses is amazing! My go-to choice is alcohol markers, but no matter which mediums you use, they just lay down and blend beautifully on the page.

Describe your perfect coloring atmosphere?

My perfect coloring atmosphere is in my studio.

Tell us about your creative process when you get ready to color.

My coloring process is I choose a piece and then automatically know what pencils I will use and pick the "starting" colors from there.

How has coloring changed or added to your life?

Coloring has changed my life...I started coloring a year ago from a "broken" heart (I did the breaking up though). I am over the broken heart and because of that.... came coloring. I love to color, it is my favorite thing to do.

What advice would you give someone who isn't confident about their coloring technique?

For those who aren't confident about their coloring technique, [the trick] is to keep coloring and posting your pics with coloring groups you like. Buying good products with great paper like Colorit is a plus. Watch and connect with other colorists on Youtube groups.... it helps. They are the nicest people and will encourage and help you along the way, with supplies to buy and just be there for you.

What's your favorite ColorIt book? What title would you like to see in the future?

Blissful Scenes is my favorite coloring book of ALL. It's the only book where I have done every single page. I love your books because they are spiral bound and you offer the best paper around, not to mention the artists provide great outlines for us to color.

Is there anything else you want to share about your love of coloring?

Coloring brings such a "zen" and "peace" to your life.... nothing like I have ever experienced. I am so proud of what I have colored and how far I have come in just a year of coloring.
